Despite the War, God Is Bringing in a Great Harvest!

Dear ReBridge Family and Friends,

As I sit here this morning in Sidon, Lebanon, reflecting on the past ten days, my heart is overwhelmed by the goodness and faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ! What an amazing trip with an absolutely wonderful team from the United States. Despite the war and uncertainty, they overcame their fears and stepped out in faith.

We have traveled from northern Lebanon to the extreme south, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut. Everywhere we went, we witnessed something absolutely amazing. Despite the destruction and hundreds of thousands of displaced people, the Church here is alive and bringing in a great harvest!

With all the negative news coming out of the Middle East, I wish the world could see what we have witnessed. Our brothers and sisters, despite very limited resources, are caring for widows, orphans, refugees, and broken families. Syrians, Iraqis, Palestinians, Kurds, Alawites, and many others who have lost almost everything are finding hope and peace at the feet of Jesus.

Pastor Jehad in Zahle shared something with me that really touched my heart. Speaking about Muslims, he said, “We don’t have to like them, but we have to love them.” Coming from my own background as a Middle Eastern Christian who has witnessed persecution, those words mean so much to me. That is exactly what the Church here is doing!

One of the most touching moments was our visit to Tyre Church in southern Lebanon. The surrounding neighborhoods have been devastated by war, yet we worshiped with over 100 believers, many from Muslim backgrounds. People are coming to Christ, being baptized, and sharing the Good News with family and friends.

We gave Pastor Joseph, a wonderful Egyptian pastor serving in Tyre who has very little personal support, a financial gift. Half was for him and half for the church. His response touched our hearts deeply. He asked whether he could use the entire gift to help a Syrian refugee woman who had recently accepted Jesus and urgently needed surgery but had no money. That is the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ being lived out right before our eyes!

In all my years traveling throughout the Middle East, I have rarely witnessed anything like this. Churches are growing, new believers are being trained to evangelize, and people from many backgrounds are coming to know our amazing Lord Jesus Christ. I truly believe we are witnessing a spiritual awakening!

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” — Matthew 9:37

To all our wonderful ReBridge friends and supporters who have been praying and partnering with us for so many years, THANK YOU! You are part of what God is doing here. The needs are tremendous. Please continue partnering with us through your prayers and financial support so we can help more churches and ministries bring in this great harvest.

I am sharing pictures from our journey. Each one tells a story of God’s faithfulness in the middle of tremendous suffering. Despite the wars and all the darkness, the light of our Lord Jesus Christ is shining brightly here in Lebanon!

We love you all and thank God for you! To God be all the glory!

With much love in Christ,

Kalim AndraosDirector, ReBridge Ministries
